Infraorder CARIDEA // Family Pandalidae // Genus Pandalus
  Pandalus hypsinotus Brandt, 1851
The Coonstripe shrimp occurs by all seas of Far East by literature data. Along the coast of America from Alaska to Washington state at depths from 0.2 to 460 m (Slizkin, 2006). However, this species is found exuctly only in the Sea of Japan and in the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk. The geographical distribution of the crested shrimp requires clarification, since in the northern part of the Sea of Okhotsk and in other more northern regions it could be confused with another, outwardly similar shrimp P. ivanovi. The Coonstripe shrimp is a commecrial in the Sea of Japan and in the east of Sakhalin.
