European brown shrimp is widespread. Found in White Sea, Barents Sea, Northern Sea, Baltic Sea, North East part of Atlantiv Ocean by European shore, Medeterranean Sea, Black Sea and Azov Sea. Live on the sand and silty sand bottom. Found in desalinated water of estuaries. Typical near shore, but can found at the depth to 100 м (Kobjakova, Dolgopolskaya, 1969).
